[There's a fairly long silence, broken only by the noise of the waves and the splashes of the pebbles she's throwing]
I was almost...
I almost managed to forget to miss them.
Like this was all a dream, maybe, and I was just going to wake up or...maybe like things before were.
[She chucks a few more stones into the water, with a little more violence and a little less aim, not really noticing how close the water's getting to her feet.]
Dammit, Ushiro, why'd you have to show up and rem- [the next wave splashes against her feet, and with a little squeak of surprise, she quickly scoops herself and the computer up and scurries back from the waterline] -ind me?
...
Whoa, the tide really is coming in way higher than usual.
...Weird.
